Think of a time that you wanted to do something but were overwhelmed by the process. You want to start working out, but when you make the effort, the fitness world seems so vast and difficult that you end up quitting after two weeks. You want to renovate your house, but the list of to dos makes you want to crawl in bed for a nap.
Sound familiar? We’ve all been there.
I will be the first to admit that I struggle with this complex often. I’m a big dreamer, but I’m not as proficient at putting a practical plan in action. Recently, however, I’ve discovered such joy in accomplishing dreams through small, bite sized tasks. So I had an idea … I am inviting you to join our journey toward a more sustainable and minimal lifestyle through a year long challenge.
25 Practical Steps to Living a More Sustainable and Minimal Lifestyle #asimplechallenge
Kind of a long title, but you get the picture. How will we do this? Every one to two weeks (averaging 2-3 steps/month), we will introduce a tangible way to live more sustainably/minimally through a blog post released on the first day of the week. We will be sharing ways that Sam and I have already added these aspects to our lives or how we’re planning to do them along with you! Sort of like habit stacking, sort of like mini new years resolutions.
Our hope is to encourage a more mindful lifestyle without burdening you with an overwhelming task. We will walk with you, support you, and welcome you to keep us accountable too! As we add each new aspect into our lives our perspectives will undoubtably begin to change. Things that may have seemed unattainable will suddenly look ordinary. Maybe even easy. And that is the main goal: a mindset shift. A change in perspective that is beneficial to our lives, our communities, and our home – Earth.
So what do you think? Are you up for the challenge?
Step One will be posted this coming Monday, so stay tuned! And if you want to make sure that you don’t miss it, you are welcome to sign up for our e-mail list. We promise we only send the best!Sign Up
